Poised on the banks of the Arno River, Villa La Massa is a haven of haute hospitality and nature, located between Florence and the Chianti region. A member of The Leading Hotels of the World, the luxury hotel is linked to central Florence by a courtesy shuttle bus that runs to and from the Ponte Vecchio every day.

Surrounded by 25 acres of grounds, including lemon trees and olive groves, this Medici mansion was converted into a luxury hotel in 1948. Embodying 500 years of history, Renaissance splendor and the lifestyle of Florentine aristocrats exude from the walls of Villa La Massa.

The hotel features 54 rooms, divided across six historic buildings: the Villa Nobile, the Mill, the Villino, the Casa Colonica, the Limonaia and Villa Hombert. The spirit of the Renaissance is still palpable in the first three villas decorated with sublime canopied beds, frescoes, tapestries, silks, and brocades, while the remaining three properties are beautifully furnished in a more contemporary Florentine style.

The gourmet restaurant “Il Verrocchio” serves traditional Tuscan cuisine with over 400 labels of wine, while the terrace overlooking the Arno River is a unique setting for romantic dinners.

Neighboring the recently restyled pool, L'Oliveto Bistrot is open for lunch. Named after the surrounding olive trees, which are used to produce the hotel’s own olive oil, the restaurant occupies a former barn.

For those looking for a full day of relaxation, an outdoor pool, a modern fitness center, the Arno SPA, mountain bikes and a running trail are all available on the property.
