Very few travelers share exactly the same expectations, interests and ability level, even if they're close in other ways. Backroads ensures that every guest, whatever his or her ability level, enjoys a uniquely personal travel experience. Whether they’re looking for a longer ride while their companion prefers a leisurely morning spin, then maybe a stroll in the village or some spa time. At Backroads they cater to everyone's priorities, so each guest enjoys a trip that easily matches their style.

On each trip, they offer 2-3 daily mileage options so guests can ride or walk as much or as little as they like. Guests have their own set of detailed directions and their trip leaders review the options with the guests each morning. Everyone rides or hikes at his or her own pace.
Guests tend to be active 2-5 hours per day, based on their interest and fitness level. Van support is also available every day, on all routes.

How should I train for my Biking, Multisport or Walking trip?
You'll get the most enjoyment out of your active adventure if you are reasonably fit. Try running, hiking, swimming or other aerobic activity for at least 20 minutes, three times a week, to help you stay in shape. If you're choosing a biking trip, the best training is to get out and ride—hills and flats—several hours at a time on consecutive days. The key is to just do it—and want to do it again the next day.
