Inside the castle, see antiques, Chippendale furniture and tapestries. Also on the property is the Clive Museum, which has ornate pieces from India.
Welshpool is also where you can board the small-gauge Welshpool and Llanfair Railway for an 8-mi/13-km scenic journey. This town, 102 mi/164 km north of Cardiff, offers a good place to spend the night.
