In-room Dining:

We do not offer room service. However, our Executive Chef Lukas Gurtner prepares wonderful meals every day that can be enjoyed while looking out over the Pacific Ocean from our restaurant in the Tyee Lodge.

The Tyee Dining Room, Bar and Lounge area is made up of expansive wood floors and luxurious lounges with fireplaces. The dining room harbors a mini grand piano and is bordered by floor to ceiling windows. The Tapas bar and patio, just out front, is where wonderful food, breathtaking views and a magically warm atmosphere epitomizes the spirit of this special place. The sea air and the spectacular sunsets all add an unforgettable dimension to the dining experience.
 
Our Executive Chef, Lukas Gurtner, devises tasting menus each night paired with our sommelier’s hand-picked selection of fine wines from British Columbia and the major wine regions of the world. The son of an accomplished Swiss chef, Lukas launched his own culinary career with an apprenticeship at Victoria's Hotel Grand Pacific. He then moved to the celebrated Laurie Raphael in Montreal, then completed his training under Sonora's previous Executive Chef Terry Pichor, graduating from Chef de Partie to Executive Sous Chef, a position he held for five years. Lukas' philosophy is based on combining fresh, local ingredients with the freshest international food trends.
