Lighthouse Reef, the northernmost atoll off Belize, is composed of several coral isles, including Big Northern Caye, which has an airstrip and a dive lodge, Itza Resort.
Nearby is the Blue Hole, the deepwater dive site that so impressed Jacques Cousteau. It's a collapsed cave that has unusual rock formations but little marine life besides sharks.
Uninhabited islands in the atoll include Long Caye, Northern Caye, Sandbore Caye, Saddle Caye and Hat Caye.
