Milos
Overview
Introduction
Once the home of the
Venus de Milo, this island, located 95 mi/155 km south of Athens, offers isolated coves and white-pebble beaches. The island is mostly famous for its crystal clear waters and amazing beaches. Visit the castle in Milos town and stroll along the harbor. For a longer journey, take a boat from the harbor to the bay of Kleftiko. On the way, you will pass Mauros Kavos, a hidden cave beach believed to have been a pirate's hideout. Another trip can be made to Appolonia, a lovely fishing village on the other side of the island.
