Villany

Overview

Introduction

Villany has emerged as one of Hungary's finest wine regions, producing mainly big, hearty reds. In the area known as the Hungarian Mediterranean, this small town has a charming center, lined with wine cellars for tasting the region's finest products.

If you're visiting during the autumn harvest season, be sure to book hotel reservations in advance. Villany, which is 125 mi/200 km south of Budapest, is worth at least a day trip from Pecs.
