5. 2022 Grand Africa Voyage

   CONS: A couple ports were not completely ramped up after covid but they made a great effort.

   The Grand Africa Voyage was a tremendous opportunity to visit 20+ extraordinary ports on/off the continent of Africa. The Holland America Zaandam staff were wonderful--kind, helpful, and knowledgeable.

   From the time we left the Ft. Lauderdale port to our return, the Grand Africa Voyage was a trip of a lifetime! Highly recommend this cruise! There were several ports we arrived into that had not seen a cruise ship in over two years--they were grateful for the return of tourism. The port stops were wonderful adventures and the HAL shore excursions were plentiful and varied to meet different interests. The onboard Zaandam singers & dancers were fabulous as were guest performers and lecturers. Jeremy Hales, Cruise & Travel Director was amazing! He did an awesome job with daily updates, port presentations, and many other events. The food in the Lido Market, main dining room, and the Pinnacle was delicious with a variety of options, and the wait staff were delightful and funny.
